LETTER TO MY LIBERAL CONGRESSMAN
Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ), the only Quaker in Congress, likes to say that he’s a “rocket scientist” because he taught physics at Princeton Univ, and brags about beating “Watson” on Jeopardy!, but is in lock-step with uber ignorant Nancy Pelosi on everything. It did, however, earn him over $30Million in Stimulus for his previous employer, resulting in about 6 jobs “created”, that I doubt were ever filled.
His most recent e-mail, wants to make it clear that he didn’t vote for the Ryan Budget Plan “a grim and pessimistic vision for America’s future”, nor did he vote to send troops to Iraq 10 years ago, which he called a “shameful anniversary” where “some leaders were so tied to ideology that they deluded themselves and the public at the cost of more than 100,000 American and Iraqi lives.”
He usually ends his e-mail for a call of bipartisanship, after spewing partisan Pelosi puppetry, but this time he divulged his deepest fear….that we are on a “collision course” with meteors striking Earth and condescendly declares that nuclear countries will ”misinterpret” meteors for a nuclear strike and armageddon will ensue. Holt reminds the unlikeliness of such an event, but than spends his time writing a Wash Post op-ed, and even appears on tv, in an underwhelming interview with Chuck Todd of NBC and MSLSD.
Here’s my letter in response:
In your most recent newsletter “The Hardship Is Only Beginning To Be Felt”, you criticized going to War in Iraq, when the MAJORITY of Congress voted in favor. It wasn’t based on (Republican) ideology, it was based on overwhelming evidence that even Secty of State John Kerry said that it can not be ignored. I wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about going into Iraq either, but the fact remains that Iraq is better in 2013 than it was, prior to 2003.
You also criticize the imperfect Ryan Budget Plan, when the MAJORITY of the House again voted in favor. Those like yourself, that constantly vote on the wrong side of history, are always quick to criticize and condemn, yet never, ever, produce a plan or solution yourself. I don’t want to hear these phoney hypotheticals of what the Ryan Plan might do, from someone who has no clue.
To add further insult, you devote time and energy on the slight chance of a meteor hitting Earth. My God…you have either been in Washington DC too long or you only speak to the small group of minority mothball Liberals that agree with you.
Probably both….but as MY Representative, I am sick and tired of YOU promoting shameless Demogogue City partisan politics over real solutions.
So be a leader for once, and develop your own budget plan, if you don’t like the one the House passed. Go visit Iraq, and ask the people if our war was in vain…or better yet, ask John Kerry.
Whether we are attacked on 9/11 or have $16.7 Trillion in debt, you would rather sit on your thumbs and do nothing than provide solutions. Somehow, meteors hitting Earth in 100 years is not quite the concern of District 12.
So please get a clue or resign already….your country needs you to.
